Please add your own nominations so we can get a feel on where you would like to stay. Please also list what month you think we would good for the campground. Try to pick not so busy weekends

FOR EXAMPLE: Warriors would be better in April before school ends because it is slower and FCFS

If I may say, Warriors Path State Park, Kingsport,TN.

We need to get these trips planned so lets have some input. put these campgrounds in order of the ones you want to camp at so I can get a temporary planning up and vote on them for next years trips starting April-Oct

I would suggest the following but I don't have little ones to find things to do.

Warriors SP-Kingsport,TN in April but not race weekend.
Claboughs-Pigeon Forge,TN in May.
River Plantation-Sevierville,TN in June.
Davy Crockett Birthplace SP-Limestone,TN in July
Smokey Bear-Gatlinburg,TN in August
Claboughs-Pigeon Forge,TN in September
Jellystone-Gatlinburg,TN in October

I probably wouldn't be able to get to all of them but it sure is a nice dream.
Also got to work in the beach sometime during all that.

We are wide open for next season, except for the following:

end of May we will be spending 11 nights in Fort Wilderness at Disney.... yeah!!!

August 16, 17 and 18 - Little River

I am also hoping to get a trip in to the beach as well.

Only suggestion I might make regarding Smoky Bear... avoid the "bug season"
since I have heard people have had issues there regarding bugs

Two campgrounds not on the list that we will definitely camp at next season are Roan Mountain State Park and Natural Tunnel in Duffield, VA....

I can't believe our first camping season is drawing to a close (hoping to get atleast one more trip in).... it's been so nice. So nice that I took a temporary job.. nights and weekends... to save up alot more $'s for camping next season... : )


April, we will probably do Roan - before it gets too busy

May, Natural Tunnel and Disney for sure

OOOOO..I WANT TO GO TO FORT WILDERNESS..I HAVE 4 GRANDBABIES THAT WOULD LOVE TO GO...WHAT IS THE PRICE FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS?

They offer preferred sites (cable and internet) and regular sites.
Price varies with the time of the year you go.
Campground can book up a year in advance - so you have to be early. Atleast most of the time.
You can book by paying only one night and then pay as you go.

Our first night there will be May 24th and we will be heading home June 4th.
We have booked a preferred site and our nightly rate is $75.00 plus tax

There are a few disney forums with great info - pm me if you wish the links.

With 5 of us, we will be paying less at the campground then at the other Disney properties where we would really need 2 rooms to be comfortable.

We didn't particulary want to be there Memorial Day weekend, but we are leaving as soon as the kids are out of school for the year.

We are SO excited! I have read nothing but great things about Fort Wilderness...

If I dont get dates from more people then I will just set it up and then get your takes on it ok..

HEY!! WE ALWAYS GO TO NATURAL TUNNEL LABOR DAY WEEKEND, IT IS THE LAST WEEKEND FOR THE POOL AND THEY ALWAYS HAVE LIGHTING OF THE TUNNEL AND OTHER SPECIAL EVENTS!!! THE ONLY THING IS WHEN YOU MAKE RESERVATIONS YOU HAVE TO PAY IN ADVANCE AND YOU HAVE TO MAKE THEM AROUND NOW TO BE ABLE TO GET IN!! JENNI
