I have airbags on my F250 and can only speak about them. I love them, I also bought the in cab controller as well and couldn't imagine doing without it. I do alot of towing most of which is on the farm with machinery and hay and various things. It makes a big difference in handling and ride all for the good while loaded. What they don't tell you is it makes the ride very stiff when unloaded and you must keep 5psi in the bags or it will damage them. We use this truck when we had our other 5th wheel camper and they helped alot with the ride and leveling the truck up. There is a web site you can order them from for $229, unless you have found them cheaper, that was the cheapest place I found them.

hi, no we have not found them that cheap !!!?? where is that ?? we only tow in season, and only the fifth wheel. i mean maybe a cargo trailer or something. so 3/4 of the time we would have no load. we wouldnt like a stiff ride all the time ?? but the camper does weight it down a little. i guess we would use the same thing, on our f250. thanks !

Sorry, they went up $20 after I found the web site.
These people are great to deal with too, they will do a package deal for you if you want. I bought my control unit from Summitt Racing.

I have air bags too. I have Air Lift on a Dodge 3500 and I would recommend NOT putting Air Lift on a Dodge unless they changed the design since early 2005. The bottom mount for the bag on the Dodge allows the mount to pivot. I had one pivot on a trip and it took 3 days getting a new bag and getting it fixed in Billings, MT and then I went on to Calgary, Alberta and had to spend 3 days again getting it worked on. They fixed it there to where I have not had any more trouble with it. I have never heard that complaint on the Firestone Ride Rite air bags. Air Lift would most likely be ok on other truck brands. Sorry but I have never had air shocks so I don't know anything about them.

What are the negs? I have had a set for 3 years and put atleast 30,000 miles on them and I have no complaints. I haven't even had a leak or anything.

The years I was going though the same thing, I had a 1/2 ton chevy, Had a heavy 30' TT weight 9,800 Loaded. I went the CHEAP WAY NOT!! Went to Johnson City to Spring service and had Two springs added WELL it Worked BUT, the RIDE was VERY BAD JUST like a Log Truck!!! Well the next time bought 3/4 ton got bigger camper FW 32' 10,860 LD OK!! Well we traded again 3/4 ton WITH A 38' with 4 slide outs FW 13,800 LD I needed somthing!!! Well I Got the Firestone Air Bags the Best Money I put into a Truck. I Towed over 20,000 miles with the 38' FW. When you go across rough roads and Bridges there is no bottom out or swaying.... I bought the on board Compressor with gauge inside VERY VERY much worth the money............. I put them on my self with no help it comes with everthing you need for your model yr. truck!! After I put them on did not know how much air? Looking up Info. said to use 50psi in the bags when towing, well it was too much for me with what I was towing the 38' FW, I liked 38psi was the best for the ride, what is the best is you can adjust in the cab going down the road with the onboard comp./ gauge After all of that when your not towing you let the AIR out, you have the same truck you drive every day!!!!!! I can go on and on, my buddy has a set He LOVES them too, he has a F250, 34' Fw 11,800 LD 2 slides. Hope you can use the INFO. I found on web. and called, told what I had and how often I used and they said Air Bages the Best Way!!!! Look up on the web. for Michigan Spring and Truck Acc. at the time 3 1/2 to 4 years ago was Cheap.. Firestone Air Bags .
HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL!! USING SHOCKS WILL THE HELP?? WHAT IF YOUR NOT TOWING WHAT ABOUT THE RIDE??
