I would like to extend out the rear bumper on my '84 24' marathon, class C.

I would like to find someone reasonable to weld up a 2 foot extension, and add a class 3 hitch. If someone out there knows how to or a welder let me know.

As an alternative, just a place where I could get a deal on the steel, and expanded metal decking would be helpful.

As far as finding the metal look for a recycling scrapyard that sells to the public. If they buy from busnesses they may have some steel scrap. I live in Middle TN and in McMinnville there is a nice one. They have all kinds and I got some good deals there. Also check your phonebook. There are still places out there that do custom welding and they may have the piece you need and can put it on.

I do some welding but I'm not certified. Just a backyard mechanic who likes to tinker. I've done quiet a bit of this type of stuff, but I shy away from doing something this important on other peoples stuff for liability reasons. Sounds like you'll be using that Class 3 reciever so it needs to be right. Any professional welding shop should be able to do it for you.

Here's a rear bumper mod I made on my own camper. It does have a 2" receiver in it, but I wouldn't do any class 3 work with it due to the thin camper frame rails. It's also a Travel Trailer I don't like the idea of pulling tandem. Your class C should have a nice frame to work off of.
