Bald Mountain Park GA.

Just had one of the guys I work with call me. He was off on vacation this week and decided to try a new place out in Hiwassee GA.

He was really impressed with the campground and it looks good from the site. I may have to try this out sometime! He said the area was really well kept and has lots of room. The camp areas are spread out more than it looks like on the map. Must have had to squash them all in to get it on one sheet.

Anyone ever stayed here?

We stayed there last spring. It's a nice, clean park with plenty of activities. They have a pool, a pond, putt-putt course, and a pavilion where they have plenty of events. The sites are quite large and well laid out. The staff is very friendly and they keep the place clean. Hiwassee is a neat little town, too.

We stayed there in July of this year. We had campsite #43, but if we went back we would request #46, #47, #48 as there was more shade better creek access. There was a lot of activities to do for families with children. Besides the pool, there was a lake to fish and paddle boat, but the water was kinda mucky looking - so I would not let the dogs in it to swim. There was a mini-golf course, volleyball court, a rec room (didn't really check that out), a basic needs store, a pavilian place to rent, places to ride bikes.

The creek was nice in some locations other locations it was a dribble but North Georgia was going through a bad drought. However, there was some nice trout in the creek to eat if you could get them little fishy on your fishing hook. There are full-time residents there in certain areas of the park.

It was clean which is one of the first things I look for and then looked at safety features. There was no trash even on the grounds to complain about. They take dogs if you clean up after them.
