we bought a 30'' travel trailer up in Ohio, about 450 miles.l it is tandem axel.. but he said the tires are a little weather, and probably dry roughted.. just wondering if anyone has had any experience with dry roughted tires, and pulling ?? should we get new ones ? or take a chance and if we have a blow out with tandem axel i guess it wouldnt be too bad ?? were going to get it probably this next weekend. or sometime soon after that.. were also checking on the wheel bearings ..

I believe I would check them out and if I saw any cracks and anything I would replace them before I pulled it from Ohio. When the tread comes off of them tires it can really do some damage to the wheel wells and the cabinets above them. With tandems you may not lose control but you could substain a lot of damage and possibly have a fire. Have a safe trip to pick it up and Happy New Year.

Change the tires.... Don't want to see you all over the Highway... Check with your local discount tire center and they should have them. Remember if one blows out then it puts extra weight on the other one and then you will have a more serious problem.

thanks.. me too.. the old thing we bought a few weeks ago, had sat for 3 years not moved.. and we ran 70mph all the way up her from cookeville. this one hasnt sat that long.. so maybe it will be ok if we do have to go. let you know sunday when were back ! have a good weekend !!

made it back.. we didnt find any place at all to get tires.. it was like a ghost town up there.. but we made it back.. without anything happening.. took us about 3 hpurs longer to come back than it did going, and took like 5 times the fuel ! the tires are good on tread, but a couple of them have a bunch of cracks in them.. so we'll get new ones before we go camping in it !

glad you made it back alright and didn't have any trouble. You must have had your guardian angel with you all the way. If there are visible cracks I would sure replace and not push my luck. Look forward to seeing you in the campgrounds......

i dont know, but what i would do is go out to the camper with me the next time i go out there, and look !
