that is like the one at the rv show in Morristown I liked, I LOVE the kids room in the back which is were 2 of the slide outs are, 1 bunks on either side with the closet in the middle and their own bathroom. It is a nice trailer.

Can't believe your going to the big one now.. Hey there is enought room for me and my family to stay with you too...lol Just kidding

willandgill,

I have a 33' 5th wheel, with 3 slides and have pulled it with my F 250. I will tell you your truck will pull it, it will not like it, but it will pull it. The problem we had is that the truck was just way to overloaded and it was hard to control. If the wind was blowing it was hard to tell where you might end up. Interstate travel was a nightmare, whether you did 55 mph or 80 mph, it just didn't matter. Nice camper though, but just my opinion, and I have no reason to steer you wrong, to much for your truck. With saying that, I guess I should have asked what are your plans for it, apparently long stays, but close to home, out west, long pulls, etc, etc, etc,........

We bought our camper north of Cincinatti and that had to be the longest trip home I have ever made. It was raining, wind was blowing and we was all over the road. Scared the DW so bad, she went and bought a F350 Dually about 3 months later without discussing it. This is just my expierence. I would suggest that you hook up to it and pull it up and down 11E before signing the dotted line. They will let you do it, you may decide that it is ok or it is not. If you don't want to do that, I live 1 mile from them, you can hook up to mine and see what you think, it is not the same or even close, but will give you an idea.......

ok thanks. we figured it would be a lot for it. i beleive our truck is rated 14k and this weighs 11800, but the size and tounue weight probably doesnt help.. we really wouldnt want to trade trucks. i will talk to them about pulling it down the road. appreciate you saying that i didnt know they did that. were leaving now we'll see how it goes. thanks

stacy, lol yea we thought that we could rent out 2 of the bunks in the back lol --

Hey, didn't we have bets on how long it would take for them to trade again?
Who wins? biggrin.gif

I say that they dont buy this one and keep loooking or get a smaller 5th wheel. My self I think they need to find one with a back bedroom with the futon like sofa that fold down to a bigger bed for Will

Who is your sales guy? First time, we had Pete and really liked him. Second time, not Pete... sad.gif Hopefully they were willing to cut a deal with you.. as we didnt have as much luck with that as we would have liked.

Congrats!

I think I found the perfect truck for you. It has room to grow when you deciede to get a bigger camper . All you would have to do is to take the dump bed off. I saw one of that brand when I was 6 years old up close and personal at a place my dad worked when we lived in Tuscon. It was almost that big and you can't imagine until you see one up close.

Its at http://roboticdegree.blogspot.com/2007/08/...k-in-world.html

I would have probably welded a hitch on the back of your camper you had and then pulled your scotty with it. Seriously congrats on the camper. I get nervous enough with our 20 ft Aristocrat pulling it with my Ford truck. I would be a total wreck pulling anything bigger.

we got Pete ! he was really nice, called back within the time he said. A & L has one maybe a little better floor plan, little shorter too. but it's higher for some reason. got to get them down.. cant see paying more for one smaller, and stuff. we are glad we didn't get Jamie there, we got him on the last camper we got from them, and he was very unhelpful.
by the way do you all like the electric awning on yours ?? we heard bad thing about them. like you cant lower them so the wind wont get them..

LOL Willy, yea when you but one fifth wheel, you could just go ahead and hook up all of the campers they have and pull all of them out of there !

We liked dealing with Pete alot. He does not work all year and was not back yet when we purchased our TT. We had Billy this time and found him/them really unwilling to negotiate.

We have only had our TT out once, but had no problems with our awning.

Our friends bought their 5th wheel from A and L and they were very pleased with the deal that was made. And, they have been very pleased with the dealership.

Hope you find the perfect unit for you..

probably settled on this one right now, unless we find something else before a couple weeks.. here

starlight- 03-07-2008
I really like that one! I can't wait to get a 5th wheel someday!

willandgilscamper- 03-07-2008
does anyone know anything or had either a montana mountaineer, or a Sandpiper or sierra brand ?? we have read a little better stuff on the Mountaineer that crowder has.. but it is 3k more, and does not have the outside refer, and electric awning which we kind of want.

I have few suggestions for getting some feedback on the units you are interested in...

You could go to rv.net/forum and search for that model. You could go into their 5th wheel forum and post a question and hopefully speak to owners who have the models you are interested in. Get some feedback from people who have experience with that particular unit.

Montana is a Keystone product as is the Mountaineer. You could also search Keystone in RV.Net as well..

I have found a Montana/Mountaineer Owners Discussion Board
here

Sandpiper is a Forest River Product as is Sierra...
I found a Forest River Forum..
it is here

Have you seen this model... it is reasonably light and has 2 bathrooms
5th wheel

We sure like our electric awning. It saves alot of time!

Our friends have a Holiday Rambler Alumascape 5th wheel and they really like it.

Good Luck!
