etncc/2cents.gif There are some who would submit to the philosophy that when tenting material is present it is camping and when surrounded by hard sides it is RVing.

If that's the case, owning a hybrid would indeed put us in a pretty precarious position.

As a hybrid owner, do you consider yourself a camper or an RV'er

For us, it's still camping. etncc/2cents.gif

Can it really be considered "camping" if I have air conditioning, a full kitchen, a bathroom with hot water, and cable TV? biggrin.gif

We spent a week in Panama City, FL, in August. The A/C kept it at a balmy 70 degrees inside the camper. I did feel for the poor tent campers, although not so much that I would invite them to stay in our camper!

Of course, we have an annual trip to Cades Cove over Thanksgiving, and last year it got pretty chilly in the bunkend, even with the furnace. So I guess that still qualifies as "camping".

Electric Blankets are the perfect answer for a Pop-Up or I suppose a Hybrid. Shoot we still use them in our TT and at home in the cold months. Back when we did have the Pop-up though, we "camped" in 30 degree weather (night time temp's). Electric blankets in the bunks and a ceramic heater in the center of the unit and it was always perfectly comfortable all night long. Couldn't have been any better actually.

I guess I will be a new term not too long from now. I will be a hammer. because I will be camping in a canned hammed type,my Scotty. Right now we call the Aristocrat a great big rolling "T" .Thats from the movie RV. Its big to us because hooking up to my full sized pickup its like driving a tractor trailer. I am really glad when it gets in the camping spot. Its not as big as a lot out there today but its like pulling a Elephant to me.

My in-laws have gone to Cades Cove for Thanksgiving since my wife was a small child. It's like a family reunion of sorts because there is a group of people that have also gone there for years. After my wife and I got married, we started going with them, and I was also surprised at how many people camp there over Thanksgiving. It's probably my favorite camping trip of the year.
