What do you folks use to clean the sides of the bunk ends as well as the top of the bunk ends? I noticed that the tops are a little nasty and need cleaning. Also, the sides look to be made of a different material. When it rains heavy, the sides on the bunk ends seem to be damp to the touch but the tops remain very dry.
Any suggestions on the proper clean up as well as adding waterproofing to the canvas bunk ends, both inside and out. Thanks for your replies.

I clean my bunkends with a very mild detergent. This year I tried Repel waterproofer w/mildew protection. I do not like it. We have always used Camp-Dry in the past and it worked better. We had to put the camper up wet at Lotterdale Cove and then come home to go to Church, when I open the camper up at home it had already started mildewing- only after an hour and a half. I have put the camper up wet in years past come home went to church and opened it back up after church without mildew, so I believe the campdry to be better.
I do have a question though I have never waterproofed the inside of my canvas and the only leak I have ever had was at a zipper seam. So does anyone else waterproof the inside of their canvas and does it help stop leaks?

Ken we use camp dry on the outside and Scotch Guard on the inside. It seems to work really well and we haven't had a problem yet. Tracker just be sure and don't rub the inside of the tent area too much as this will cause it to leak and when it starts it is not good. We use a mild detergent and brush on ours and then when it dries good we apply the Camp Dry to the outside and let it dry. Then we apply a good coat of Scotch Guard to the inside tent area and around the zippers to the windows.

Thanks for all your input. We washed the canvas this morning with the mixture above. It worked well. We then went back this evening and put some waterproofer we purchased at Wally World. Now all I need to do is get me some of the Scotch Guard this weekend to finish the insides.
Thanks again for all your input!

Do you guys use the scotchguard for stain resistance inside or does it help prevent leaks?

we had a little leak in the corner of the canvas on one of our new popups and tried the scotch guard didnt work fast, but since it was new we told the dealer, and they recommended it and to wet the canvas and let it dry several times. but again we didnt keep it long enough to know

I think I would be very dissappointed if I bought a new one and it leaked.

we were and called the dealer that we got it from, but we sold it before we got it fixed.
