Does anyone put a carrier on top of their camper? I had one give to me and was thinking about using it to haul our outdoor games and maybe a chair or two.

I hav not heard of anyone doing that, but that doesn't mean it is a bad idea! I think it would work rather well. My son-in-law puts one on top of his truck while he tows his camper. I don't see why it wouldn't work if you can anchor it down.

One of the other groups I belong to a guy just put one on his camper. He made the camper from scratch and it is a work of art. You can see pictures of his homemade carrier made out of copper at http://groups.msn.com/RepairingYesterdaysT...ID_Message=1784

That looks pretty slick, mine won't be near that fancy though. I was thinking of using racheting straps and hooking them to the frame to hold the carrier in place. My thought is I don't want to scratch my paint.

Willy. thats a good looking camper. Did he make it himself? Good ideas all around here.

Fisherpal2k, he made all from scratch. The guy is truely a artist. I wished my stuff looked half as good as his. You can see all his pictures of it at http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v284/194...0car%20project/ He did a 1948 camper that was nice also. I will get back wiith you in a day or so on comming down there. I may just take Friday off and head there. I will call you probably tomorrow night.

Does anyone think there might be a problem with weight or wind resistance on the top of the camper? Ken

I guess a lot would depend on the size, where you put it and how the camper is made. It would also depend on the weight and size of what you put up there. Another option might be to put one of those trailler hitches you slide the hitch into . Then you could get one of those cargo haulers that go into a bumper hitch. You can see what I am talking about at http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/in...ul/skunum=27596

Thanks I have actually thought about that.
