After viewing my pictures Stacy indicated she was afraid to put anything on the ceiling. I thought I might describe how they are attached and how they are used.
The shelves are wire kitchen organizers from Wal-Mart. 1/8" foam filled craft board was used for the sides and back. Standard cup hooks are screwed into the ceiling to hold them. Obviously they have to be removed when popping down. (The shelves, not the cup hooks.)
They are used to hold potato chips, coffee filters, bread, etc. Light, bulky stuff. No more than 3 pounds is placed in them. The one over the sink does have a paper towel holder attached to it.
