I was in the area near Cherokee Dam today and went by and checkd out the TVA campground there. It is small but sure looked nice. Some of the sites over look the lake. There are electric and water hookups but no sewer. They do have a dump. The bathroom has one shower stall in the mens room. Didn't go in the ladies room so I don't know about how many is in that one. They don't give reservations so it might be hard to get a site especially on the weekend. The rate is $20 or $10 with the Golden Age/America the Beautiful passport. I would like to get down there before it gets too hot but it looks doubtful at this point.

Sounds like some of the places around here. Just that TVA don't run these anymore. They have let all the local campgrounds go to private operators to run. Some make a go of it and some just run them down. TVA used to have some of the best camp areas around on the local lakes in SE TN. Not so now. Hope you get to use it before its too hot.
