Hi there. I have a Dodge ram 1500 pulling a 26 ft. Puma TT. I bought an equalizer hitch from Camping world when i bought the trailer at Tenn. Rv and i let them set it up so i knew it would ride level. I also have a reese sway control.
The equalizing hitch is just like the one you are looking at on ebay. It seems to ride pretty good. When i took it out on the interstate last week it was good to about 60 mph and then you started feeling some sway when a truck passed but other then that, seems to be good. I have to say though, i wish i had a Dodge 2500. the 1500 is really just not enough for the camper but i just got the truck a month ago so it's gonna have to do for a while. etncc/bbq.gif

hi, we have a Ford F250 Diesel, we pull a 28' travel trailer that weighs around 6500 pounds. and we use both the weight distribution, and sway control.. with out the weight distribution, it weights the truck down quite a bit..

I got a Scotty 13 ft. when I went to get it a few weeks ago. I pulled it home with my 98 pontiac Sunfire. I thought as I was pulling the hill from Pikeville to Crossvile I heard it say " I think I can, Ithink I can. " Once it got to the top it said woohoo I thought I could ,I thought I could. I pull my 20 ft Aristocrat with a 66 Ford f100 with a 352. Both of those vehicles you know it is pulling the camper but both pull them fine. I have a reese weight distrbution hitch and maybe a Grizzly? sway control on the Aristocrat. It really helped it a lot. I don't have anything like that with the scotty but it pulled fine with the car. I even hit 60 a few times before I knew it. The Scotty never swayed the first time.

I have the Curt also bought from eBay. I have the trunion style though instead of the round bars but it all works great. One tip on the sway control...you have to adjust them according to your needs. There is no way a dealer can tighten it for you unless they took it for a very long drive on the interstate. Instructions say tighten a 1/4 turn at a time until you get it tight enough to be effective. My first trip out I stopped several times adjusting it until it finally dampened out 95% of the sway caused by the big trucks. I can tow at 75 mph now with trucks and no problem even with my little Dodge Durango pulling a 27ft TT. No more white knuckling the steering wheel when the trucks come by me. The friction type sway controls will wear, alot like brake pads do so I keep a wrench in the Durango and when I feel the need, I'll give it another turn. After my initial adjustment about a year went by and I felt like it needed to be tightened again. Some people actually use two of the sway controls. I seriousley concidered that after our Florida trip but I got it dialed back in and no worries anymore.

I bought mine as a complete kit adjustable height head, ball, bars, clamps, sway, everything all at once. Little over $200 for all of it.
