I am sure we will be cooking LOTS of donuts that weekend : )

I was reading on another forum where they made these on a group trip, but they called them "widgets" ......

By any name, we really enjoy them ... : )

I have also heard of fried snickers. I've never had them but they sound very interesting.

Fried snickers? I had to go looking for a recipe.. found this

Snickers candy bars
funnel cake mix
frying oil

Push popcicle sticks into Snickers bar from the bottom about half way up.

Freeze Snickers until frozen solid.

For the funnel cake batter, you can either buy the mix at the store or make your own batter (there are several one's on recipezaar).

Dip frozen Snickers into the batter.

Fry in hot oil until golden brown (just a few minutes).

Remove from oil and drain.

Top with powdered sugar or caramel sauce if desired.

Guess I should have DH give a cooking demonstration laugh.gif I will ask him how many he thinks he wants to cook. it is so easy though! All you need are tubes of biscuits. I prefer to NOT use the buttermilk kind. And, use the regular size biscuits, not the large ones. Biscuits and cinnamon-sugar is all thats needed.
I imagine you could use powdered sugar as well, but we havent tried that.
