etncc/anyone.gif Has anyone been here? Looks interesting. A lady at work told me to check it out. Here's the web site:

Looks interesting, close to our house. They must have done some major remodeling. Will have to check it out. The best place to camp in that area is Hornsby Hollow. Very nice cg.

They must have done some SERIOUS remodeling. biggrin.gif I have to agree with Cindi, Hornsby Hollow is the best bet up there.

Drove by Euchee this weekend in the boat, did see some tee-pees, but not as many as on the website. Also saw the floating cabins, and they looked nice. Didn't see a dedicated cg, but there were some campers parked in a large, grassy area. Don't know if they had hook-ups or not. Very crowded, might be a good place to stay if you have a boat, and will spend most of your time on the water. Of course, we were in a boat, so I may have missed something. Here are some pics:

etncc/i love camping.png I talked to a lady today that tent camped there this weekend. She said the tent "sites" were a field and you had to find a spot, there was no water available at the tent area and they had to haul in all of their water for everything, the "bathroom" was a portapotty and the bathhouse was across the lake from them. She said the beach and slide were great for the kids. She didn't find out anything about the campground. The restaurant was good, but they had drinking, partying, and such until like 2 in the morning and they were across the lake from this and it still kept them awake. I don't think they will be going there again for a long time. She did say that she has decided to get a camper after this! Don't think I'll be going there any time soon.

Happy Camping!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the weekend parties! On Sat nites they have some real hum dingers up there. The water patrol is out in full force and its not safe till about 5am Sunday morning.
The grassy area you saw is the campground. etncc/hammock.gif They have a old concrete ball court there that you can park a camper on but like the lady told you, the amenities aren't real good....
The old bath houses used to be by the dock the is beside the ramp. They were finally put out of commision I think... Thats the reason for the porta potties.

Check Hornsby Hollow out. Most of the camp area is rented by the year but sometimes you can find a decent place to camp.

Ok so now you all are in my neck of the woods! Let me beg you to stay away from Euchie. Party place with so much noise on the weekend people use it as a landmarker. Lots of full time trailers and the actual campground is an absolute joke.
Hornsby Hollow is absolutely the best campground in the area! We just got back from there as a matter of fact. You can set up and leave everything out and nobody bothers it yet everybody is friendly when you pass by. Has a sandbar on the back side of it that you can walk across the river. We sometimes sit and watch boats get stuck over and over again. You can definately tell the locals from the tourists. It has two beach areas and a play ground. It has boat slips that can be rented or you can just tie up to the bank. Two bathhouses - average. A few fishing piers. A large loading dock area, a camp store and laundry. No cingular phone service and only WIFI is at the laundry room. No alcohol so it is quiet at night with an occasional kid giggling or dog barking. Great shade. Good fishin'. Spacious sites. We have been there numerous times and still love it. Spending 8 nights there in July. Can't wait.
