What is going to be on the menu for your first meal camping this spring??

Standards of Hamburgers, Hotdogs, etc?

Steaks, Pork Chops? etncc/celeb.gif

Or something new and exciting? Perhaps a new recipe you found over the winter.

Let us know. Maybe you will make our mouths water. biggrin.gif

biggrin.gif We always have our camping breakfast. It is fantastic and FULL of colosterol. I fry one pound of bacon to a crisp. Next I fry chopped onions and a can of drained small white, sliced potoes. I use a little salt and a lot of pepper on the potatoes. I drain the grease off of the potatoes and add a small can of drained, sliced mushrooms. Then I break 5 or 6 eggs on top of the potatoes, onions and mushrooms. Stir the eggs gently so the potatoes don't break. Cook until the eggs are done then lay sliced sharp cheddar cheese on top. This is fantastic! I tried it at home on the stove inside, but it does not taste the same as it does over the campfire. I have added asparagus if I have some left from dinner before we go camping. You can make toast or just eat this by itself. We don't need anything to eat for a long time after we eat our special breakfast.

My goodness Snow....That made me hungry and I just got through eating an hour ago. That really sounds delicious! I would like to try making it sometime.

It is really great! My husband loves this meal. We try new things in it all of the time. I have added bell peppers to the onions. I would like garlic. He wouldn't. You should try it. You will never think of camping again without thinking of this meal.

I just got out the dutch oven yesterday and made an excellent blueberry cobbler. My camping resolution this year is to try some new recipes in it on a regular basis.
