This place is just unbelievable! We left home Saturday. Made it to the Savannah South KOA at about 1pm. I would not really recommend the campground. We went to Tybee Island to check out Rivers Edge Campground and the beach. Had a super time. We would definitely stay at the campground.
Left sunday morning for Disney. We did not observe any signs of the fires in Georgia/Florida.
Fort Wilderness is just incredible. The landscaping is just beautiful. We are in the 200 loop, which is near the boats, pioneer hall, etc. We are about 1/4 of a mile from the campire program, pool, etc. However, we have caught buses there and back and it has not been a problem.
The campground gets a 10 out of 10. The bathhouses are immaculate. There are so many activities here for the kids as well. It is very quiet. There is alot of wildlife around as well.
It really is the best campground. I cannot recommend it enough....

Once you have been to Fort Wilderness the rest of the campgrounds can't measuer up. The best campground I have ever camped in and what Betty said about the bathhouses, you just have to see them to believe how nice they are. Been years since I have been there and camped but even "back then" they were the best in the country.

Hi guys.. on for just a second....
Don't worry... I have taken lots of pictures. Words just do not do justice to this place. I read that Fort Wilderness has the largest % of "return guests" out of all of the resorts here.
Stacy, there is so much for the kids to do here.. and thats with not even leaving the campground!
There were alot of vacant spots in the loops until today. They are all pulling in for the long weekend.
We are heading out for a bite to eat then down to the beach.
I don't want to ever leave here : )

I'll second what everyone else has said. The fort is the best campground we've ever stayed in - bar none. We were there in spring 2006 and are heading back for five days the week before Christmas!! We can't wait!!
