Congrats on the scotty, I don't think you will go wrong with buying one in excellent shape.. You probably got one the best way for most. I enjoy fixing them so I like the basketcases for me. Thats fine on the awning, no big rush. Check out those two sites on the tennessee vintage camper site. The one on the yahoo site that is free I suggest you join. Also the other one at nationalserroscotty.org cost 15 bucks to join. Not much extra when you join except for the little tag. Thats the main reason I joined. If I can help you let me know. I was in mine today finishing the wiring except for one plug that I need a box for. I laid down on the back bench and went to sleep it was so confortable. Theres nothing like these little scottys.

If I am not mistaken, that is where you add the potable water. I had a Shasta years ago that had a cover like that and was used for the water fill. Of course I could be wrong.

thanks. i'd say your right .. that what we were thinking. after looking in it.

we having been looking at some things, and it looks like some things are better made than on our fifth wheel -

willy3486- 02-17-2008
Dirtfisher is correct, that is the water inlet. there should be a stainless steel tank in the back under that seat. I took mine out since I don't go to places without water. I put my bathtub in that area. Looks really great. We will have to meet up this year next to each other and watch people take doubletakes. I was at Rock Island SP last year and a guy ran off the road looking at my Aristocrat and 66 Ford truck. When I went to get my scotty I stopped in Athens I think and a guy in a van was looking at it pumping gas. I thought he was going to say something but he never did. I hope to get my truck from the mechanic this week if I do I plan on taking the camper out for a test run pulling it. There is going to be a Scotty run at Bandy creek towards East TN in August. I need to make reservations.

were getting our VW Beetle set up to tow it sometime..

dang ! it has been too windy to set the awning up.. i haven't forgot !!

i went inside, yesterday when it was pouring down rain, and no water was anywhere except for one or two drops right where the vent is.. so we will have to seal it before it gets bad.. no water spots anywhere, which i guess is very unusual for one this age.

As far as the awning goes I was just wondering what the original poles look like. There are a few pictures out there of scottys with the awnings set up but I haven't seen the poles in a good picture. Are they adjustable?

willy3486- 02-20-2008
Hey if you want a new water filler there is one on ebay now. I saw it looking there at the scottys. I usually check out whats there so I can get ideas on mine. Heres the link

Now thats a camper I can relate to.... I have trouble imagining myself around a 5th wheel. Love the lil ones for portability. That sure looks to be in great shape. Nice catch w&g etncc/well done.gif

willy, the awning.. has little poles that join together.. the awning has 3 little holes on the end that is away from the camper.. we tried to put it up, on the only non windy day, and could not figure out how to put it up ! gonna have to find some direction somewhere. we sent the cushions for upholstery and got the new awning material to make a new one with.. the place were getting it done at is in Townsend, off wears valley. on wild cat road..

willy3486- 03-07-2008
I forgot about this camper, they show putting up the awning and after its up. These photos will hopefully answer both our questions. You can see it at http://www.nationalserroscotty.org/rebuild...thyB/index.html

Thats the way I am going with mine but I am going to make extra sides to make a room . But in the daytime I will fix it so the room can be opened up. It will look like this
