this is the first place my husband and i camped. it has a beautiful lake and a nice swimming area. there is a rv section that i only saw from the road, it had a nice playground for the kids. the part we stayed at had paved campsites with some drive thru's. they had a fire ring and picnic table. the leaves were changing because it was fall and it was beautiful. we walked down to the swimming area. there is a restaurant and someone was having a wedding reception. there is a playground near the boats. there were lots of campers and everyone seemed friendly. the only minus is the bathhouse. it was clean, but they need to build a newer one.

i can't wait to go again! it's close to Bristol, just 30 minutes from Abingdon, so about 45 minutes to an hour from Bristol

Next time you guy mark the good sites for us, I would like to check out Hungry Mother SP sometime too

Hi. Were you in the park, or in "Camp Burson" outside the park?
We have been to Hungry Mother many times, but never to camp. Unsure about
getting our 32' Travel Trailer into the camping loops in the park and have not checked out Camp Burson yet. Thanks!

we stayed in the campground on the first loop. there was a fifth wheel there that was probably over 32 feet long. camp burson (or whatever it is called) had a lot of long mobile homes camping. it has sewer as well as electricity and water. the loops just have electricity and water.

Thanks. I have been wondering what Camp Burson was like. Hungry Mother is on our MUST do list for next season.

Hi
We live right in Marion, just about 10 min. from Hungry Mother. Camp Burson used to be a private campoground. It can accomodate large rigs. We had a 31 ft. motorhome, and just sold it recently and bought a pop up. The campgrounds in the park are very nice. The rv area can accomodate up to about 35 '. They don't have too many sites for that large of a unit, but there are a couple. I will be happy to post some pics in about a month.

Thanks for your response. Looking forward to seeing pictures.
We have driven thru Hungry Mother..before we had the TT)
and loved the sites down in the park. At 32', I am thinking we might have an issue getting in there. We havent seen camp Burson, and do not know if we would like it as well as the loops in the park. We definitely want to camp there this next season.
