Little River Campground

I love this campground! Kids love this campground! The employees work very hard to keep it clean. Bathrooms are always spotless. Showers are alway clean with very hot water. Sites could be a bit further apart, however, this is typical of all the campgrounds in the area I believe. Lots to do here.... and we are heading back next month

won't come visit you though since those Nazi people expect you to pay 4 bucks per person to visit and also make you park across the busy highway and walk to the site.. yeah right.. not me, never again

Little River, so far, is my favorite campground... and the one I judge all others by. Our first day there, the one maintenance guy heard that my daughter Meghan would be celebrating her 4th birthday the next day.... he came back with a couple of presents for her. They were so attentive... and the bathrooms and grounds are kept immaculate.... shower #3 is the absolute best : )

we drove thru the neighboring campgrounds and we did not like them near as much as Little River....

Updated review after second trip 8/2006:

Had a riverfront site this time. Very nice site with deck. However, sites are small. Kids had a blast in the river. Campground is still kept very neat and clean. etncc/rules.gif

are enforced. Workers did not seem as friendly this time. This is not an inexpensive campground. Riverfront sites are $50.00/two. Each additional person over the age of 6 is $4.00 per night. Regular full hookup sites are $40.00/night. No kiddie pool.. and the pool starts at 3' deep. Great playground and gameroom. Great area. Nice grocery store right down the street. And a restaurant nearby, Timbers, that has great burgers and french dip sandwiches.
Right down the street from the Cades Cove entrance to the park. We could stay at this campground a week and none of us would get bored.

I would give this campground a 9 out of 10. downside is the price... for a family of 5 the extra $4.00/night for people over 6 adds up and also site size. The full hookups on the lower loop are cheaper and larger.

I will be spending my next birthday (next august) here in site 9. It is VERY large and the kids love the river and I love the Townsend area.

We just love Little River Campground, the staff is always friendly to us. Of course we stay there several times a year and we are friends with the Chipperfields. We love the fact that they are strict about the etncc/rules.gif

, makes everything alot quieter. It is a very nice place to stay. We are going to camp in a cabin on Christmas break.

I love the location. I love being on the "quiet side"

We have reservations for next year, got the only weekend that had an opening
with a river site. It's next August 16, 17 and 18. Site 9. I like that site alot since
it has so much space. I now know to make reservations early....

I did, however, notice a difference between our first trip in May and our second trip in August. The staff was all much more friendly in May.

I couldnt imagine staying at any of the other campgrounds down in that area....

staying in a cabin at Christmas sounds like a great idea!
