Does anyone know of anywhere around Maryville to metal detect. It has to be somewhere that I can take the kids. They want to go somewhere besides, the parks and ballparks.

Ken555555, I don't know of any places around Maryville to detect. When I go to Pigeon Forge I always hunt the city parks there. Your best bet would be to check at city hall to see what the laws are in Maryville and where you have permission to hunt. I know that you can not hunt on Federal land and there are only certain areas that you can hunt on TVA land and then by permit only. Also there is no hunting in State Parks. The laws are funny on detecting, just be sure you have permission where ever you hunt. A good place to hunt in towns if they allow it is the grassy stripes between the sidewalks and street. If you are going to be camping ask the campground staff if it is ok to hunt the empty camp sites. Good luck and Happy Hunting.

hey Campdoc have you been metal detecting lately? Really I believe its more than luck, you learn your detector and there by you dig mostly good targets. I haven't been since I had that attack last May. Am itching to get out and do a little beeping and hope to find something soon. As they say on the metal detecting forums, Happy Hunting....................
