I talked to them at the Knoxville camper show. Nice people. They have just opened, so right now everything is new, but I live 3 miles from it and can offer these observations:
1. Trees are only on the rim of the property as it was built in a corn field.
2. From the site I see that they are somewhat proud of their place (pricey I thought for in-season rates)!
3. There's good trout fishing and tubing there.
4. Too close to me to pay those prices!

I usually go to Cades Cove or Elkmont, so I'm just not use to these fancy places I guess.

Happy Camping!

I have to agree, from the road it somewhat resembles a gravel parking lot. The guy who installed my new computer system at school stayed there and he loved it. He said the bathrooms were especially nice. I won't stay there because of price and lack of shade.

40 and 45 is high prices for camping. I would rather camp closer to downtown at least 32 is better and has shade

I went to one in Townsend and was told $36.oo for full hook up. When I got there I also had to pay $4.00 each for my 3 kids..... now that 36 dollar site turned into a 48.00 dollar site and no cable. So this weekend I went to Misty River and saved $8.00. There sites are big and easy to get into and out of. I can sit in the hot tub and watch the kids in the pool. The wife LOVES the private bathrooms. If you don't camp there you got to go see the bathrooms! As for trees, who needs them I got AC. LOL

Maybe if I could get a discount I would go check it out for places to stay as a group trip for next year but I think the price is the only problem for you guys. I like a clean bathroom and stuff for the kids to do like the pool..hottub for us..lol

Hello,

I'm new to camping and this board, but we just finished our first outing in our new camper (5/25-5/29) and Misty River was great. The pool and hottub was nice. The bathhouse was clean. I called several places and by the time all the add-ons were added the 40.00 nightly wasn't to bad. The kids had a blast.

I was told this week that they are going to add trees this fall.
They told me that after the trees drop there leaves and the sap dries up in Nov. they can start to transplant some of the trees from the back lot up to the camping area.

oh that will be good.
