Greetings all,

My family and I moved to East Tennessee (Johnson City) two years ago, just because we liked it here. I work as a business consultant, and so can live anywhere. East Tennessee seems to have the best geography and hte best people of any place I've ever been.

I am an old tent camper since cub scout days (I'm 47 now) and have just bought that first used pop up camper. I'm looking forward to getting out and discovering the campgrounds in the area of my new home.

My wife, Lisa, is a full-time mom and helps witht he paperwork part of my business. She is a reluctant camper, thus the camper purchase. The three kids (7, 5, and 2) think the popup is the coolest thing in the world, and can't wait to go camping. So far the driveway is as far as we've gone, but I've only had the camper for a couple of weeks. The kids want to go to Warrior's Path to camp because they love the new playground there already. I'm looking to Roan Mountain and some of the others that are a bit further out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hopefully I'll meet a lot of you out "in the field".

We are a popup camper family ourselves. We live not too far from you in Church Hill. I for one can't wait till we get together to discuss where we all would like to camp. Warriors is a great place to camp. Alot of us locals go there alot. If they had wifi and cable I would live there all summer..lol

Richard, welcome to the forum. I am new comer here to the forum too. There are some really nice people here. I am really glad that I found out about it. I know you will enjoy your pop up very much. Back when my kids were small we took them camping (in a popup) and they still talk about the fun times we had. The memories you make will be with them forever. When it gets warm, I would recommend Elkmont campground which is a National Park campground in the Smokies. It is a wonderful place to build those memories.
