I'm going to take a quicky trip this weekend and was thinking about Panther Creek. I've never been but it looks really nice from their website. It's just gonna be me and the new dog. I've got to get her used to camping before i take her for a week next month down to Cherokee so i figured we'd start out kinda slow near home. I'd normally go to Big Ridge but it looks like the campground is still shut down due to construction. Anyone been thru there to see how it's coming along? Anyway, if anyone has any comments on Panther Creek i'd love to hear them. OH< Also got some good news today. I emailed Forest River and they said my new unit is scheduled to come off the assembly line on May 6 and i should have it about 6-8 days later. If all goes well I should have it in enough time for our trip down to Cherokee. (fingers crossed!!!)

Never have camped at Panther Creek, guess because it is to close to my house Only about 10 miles from my house. I did drive though there last summer. It was full then. If my memorey<sp> recals the lots at the lower ened seemed to be very level. The ones up the hill look very un-level. Hope you have a good time.

I camped there several times last year. I really liked it a lot. As mentioned above, the spots on the hill don't have much level areas around your campsite, but all in all it's a very nice campground. I would recommend it.

Hi everyone. Just got back this morning from Panther Creek. I would definitly go back again. Really, really nice park. Some sites were a little unlevel but nothing terribly too bad. I had a site on the lower side which was really nice. It was a little shallow so the back end of the trailer was sort of hanging over a little drainage ditch but other then that, nothing to complain about. They have a really nice swimming pool(wasnt filled up yet),2 really well kept tennis courts, soccer field, basketball goal, and a very nice playground. There are a lot of hiking trails if your into that. I took a 2 mile hike on the Lake trail which was beautiful. It takes you up about 400 feet above the lake for an awesome view of Cherokee Lake. They also have designated trails for horses and designated trails for mountain biking with varying degrees of difficulty. I think there was 3 pavillions for group gatherings that had grills and also firepits inside the shelter with a chimney going up thru the roof. The shower areas in the campground seemed clean. I just took a quick peek in , but from what i saw it looked like they clean them on at least a daily basis. There were also laundry facilities in the campground area also. 1 of the washing machines had an out of order sign on it, but the others were working for sure cause i saw a lady putting her clothes from the other 2 into the dryers. i've got some pictures of different locations around the park and as soon as i upload them to my computer, i'll put them on. If anyone has anyother questions about it, just let me know.
