Ladybug and I Just today, had to do the HARDES thing, is to put our baby to sleep!
You see, we have no children so this is our baby, he was a 16 year old Dog, For thou that have pets know, what we are torn over.. He was what got us into camping, he just love going camping and doing everything with us!!!! That is wy it is so hard.
I know in my mind it was TIME but, my HEART does'nt... Ladybug is taken it very hard, you see, I work shift work, so when I'm at work He keeped her safe, and warm.

So sorry you had to put Barney down. I know how hard it is, we had a dog for over 16 yrs and it was hard for my dad to take him to the vet to have him put down but his hips were really bad and he could hardly walk anymore, it was sad and my dad said it was the hardest thing he had to do, knowing he would not see Hobie again. He buryed him and got a nice statue and put it there as a headstone. But know the dogs are running in that big park in the sky playing ball and eating steaks for dinner.. what a life huh

Hi Junebug. i know nothing anybody is gonna say will make you feel better and some people will just say it was just a dog. But only another dog lover can understand the sadness in losing a pet. Something that may make you feel a little better is a book that I just read. It's called " Saving Sprite" by Mark Levin. If you dont know who Mark levin is, he is a political radio show host, and this book is completly out of character for what he normally rights. But he adopted a dog that was much older then what they originally believed and only had a few short years with him. It tells about the bond that develops between a human and dog and how hard it is to lose that friendship.. It is one the best books on the subject I have ever read and it will make you realize your not alone in feeling like you've losta family member.

I am so sorry for your loss. Letting go of someone we truly love is extremely hard. I know that my "Shuggar" has a very special place in my heart and in our lives. I hope this is something that we don't have to face for a very long time.

When you are down and sad, remember all of the special times that you shared together and how much richer he made your lives.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. My Chester is 2 and Patch is 1. They keep us going. I know it will be hard when we have to give them up. We lost a dear German Shephard, Sheba, who was 13, about five years ago. She is still missed.

So Sorry,
We had to put ours to sleep a year ago.
We still miss her so much.
She loved to go camping

Junebug, I am just now reading your post. I am so sorry to hear about Barney. It sure is hard to give them up. I lost my dog back in 2004 and it was so hard. I really feel for you. Again, Reta and I are sorry to hear of your loss.
