Hey Rick I own a 78 gmc midas class c, I was wondering located under the hood is two batteries, one of them power the motor and truck itself, the other one i noticed works the lights and the heater blower motor on the furnace, The refrig has been replaced with a all electric type refrig, also the outlets does'nt work unless powered up from a land line. does the power inverter suppose to convert power to run the refrig and the outlets or just the lights inside the rig? Also does the truck engine generator charge the second battery or does the second battery have to be charged from another source, the water pump also works off of the second battery or also when the truck engine is running, This question may simple but I just don't have a good working knowledge of the power sources for a rv. Thanks for any information you can give me and thanks for your time.

Are you sure you got an inverter or a converter?
Converter only takes 110 and makes it work the 12-volt system.
The inverter takes 12 volt and makes it work the 110 system.
All RV's have the converter and very few have the inverter, because it drains the battery so quick running the A/C or microwave.
If your outlets do not work then you might just have the converter.

It is probaly a con verter then. What would I have to do to make my refrig and microwave work?? A inverter?? What I would like to gain is that I could run my refrig going down the roadway, because we have some long haul trips planned this year Thanks

if you are close to Johnson City, Harbor Freight has a 1200 watt power inverter for $89.99 don't know what size inverter you need to run the refrig. Rick may sell them also.
