Please pray for Debbie, she is losing her job. Just found out this morning, but sorta knew it was coming.

They say that when God closes a door he opens a much better one for us.

I hope this is the case for Debbie... Jeff is always waiting for the day his place closes the doors so we know what you mean. Where did she work??

Thanks everyone. I work at Epic Technologies in Johnson City. It was originally Texas Instruments, then Siemens bought us, then Epic bought us. I have worked here for 19 1/2 years. So if anyone needs a Drafter, let me know, I know where to find one.

Keep Praying! It's working. Yesterday five of us in my group was told we were on the list to be terminated and we would be told for sure by March 9. But was told this morning, us five may not get it. Thanks everyone.

Well, it looks like it's official now, our plant is closing. We all knew it was just a matter of time. There's a media release today in the Johnson City Press. A company called Borla is buying the building and land, they make aftermarket high end mufflers and exhausts. A limited staff is suppose to be here until at least March, but we figure Epic will get rid of the majority before the first of the year so they don't have to pay out for more vacation time and such. I guess I'll try to ride it out as long as I can, then I'll see what comes along. Borla came in yesterday and gave an application to everyone that wanted one, so hopefull some of the employees here can find employment with Borla. So if anyone knows how to weld, work with sheet metal, and such, should check them out. It sounds like a good company to work for.

I only hope this opens more windows for you. I worry about Jeff's job also sometime. I told him if he losses it he will be working 2 jobs for a bit or we will be moving north so he can make more money. I hate it when plants close that way on their employees. Stay with it till the end, will look better for you in resumes. Find out where Jeff could get a application for there.. if you can bring on to the campout if not i can meet you somewhere. Heck if you stay there you guys could work together.. smell trouble there..lol

Stacy, I'll see if I can find an application for Jeff. There may be some here somewhere. I do know that they had a job fair yesterday at the employment office on Wesley Street in Johnson City, so they would probably have applications. The way they talk, the official closing date is Feb. 1st for the sale of the building, so it may be a while before they start moving in.

Well, today is my last day at work. I have my exit interview at 11:00 AM. After that, I will be officially out of work. I'm trying to stay positive, hopefully something will come along soon. I probably won't be on here as much, I always look several times a day while I was at work, but I'll definetly still be around. Hopefully when I find a job it doesn't cut into my camping time.

I have been thinking about you and I know you will find something soon.. just tell them you need off at least every other weekend..lol
