We are still planning on going to Fl. for a week this summer camping. Does anyone have any games that we can play while driving down? I usually drive at night when we go and let the wife and kid sleep but this time we will be driving during the day. Any help would be appreciated.
We play the alphabet game and count different types of cars and such but she is getting tired of those games. Thanks for any suggestions.

Oh, you are in the best part of your life. Traveling with children. When our children were young we would see how many different states we could find on license plates. We also challenged each other to remember what the state capitals were. When our children were in about 4th and 6th grade we gave them the road map and one guided us to Panama City, the other guided us home. When I was young we knew Morse Code and would send messages to each other instead of talking. That was a lot of fun. Keep it fun and your kids will love to go on road trips. I miss those days, but am looking forward to more in the future as we will be having our first grandchild in September!

When our two older boys were young, I would give them a week in advance fo the trip, and tell them they could find and plan two interesting side trips each. Each got one side trip on the way and one on the way back. They had to do the research, and then we played a form of 20 questions to try and figure out the side trip. They loved it, and we loved it. They got to learn about different things in different regions of the country, they learned about reading maps, they lerned how to plan a route, and they learned how to do research on a subject, and then stand up to questions about thier research. I loved it because it relieved me of some of the planning.
I get kind of upset when I see these cars on the road witht the DVD player in the back, and the kids glued to them.. You can not believe how quickly those kids will be grown and gone. Making every minute together special was so worth it.
I'll get off my soap box now.
Enjoy the trip.
