The Knoxville RV show will be Jan 25-28 The Morristown RV Show will be Jan 19-21 at Walter State Expo Center. The Nashville RV Show is also Jan 19-21. KARVDA (Knoxville Area RV Dealers) was able to get the new law change so that we are able to sell now at RV Shows. If you had not heard the State had put the Tow Able RV's under the DMV this year and after July we were not able to sell off site at a show. This has been cleared up and I would like to invite everyone out to a show and see what all is new for 2007. For Free Tickets to the Knoxville and Morristown show just email Starvol and he will get them taken care of for you.
Thanks , Rick Cathey(Starvol)

TOP STORY January 15, 2007 Sportsman show is back in business BY ROBERT MOORE, Tribune Staff Writer
Companies that manufacture recreational trailers from the largest rolling homes to the smallest pop-up campers will be able to sell their products this weekend at the sportsman show at the Walters State Great Smoky Mountain Expo Center.
Previously, a state regulation had been interpreted to exclude the sale of recreational trailers at outdoors shows.
John Baldy, expo center executive director, says he learned recently that the state Department of Motor Vehicles modified its interpretation, so the show can go on as originally planned.
The Great Smoky Mountains Sportsman Show runs from 5-9 p.m. on Friday; from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on Saturday; and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The expo center is located south of Exit 8 of Interstate 81.
Baldy says the regulation change is vital to the success of the sportsman expo for at least two reasons.
He says recreational trailer dealers will be much more inclined to display their products if they have the opportunity make sales. Also, as it stands now, Baldy also says that the expo center will earn more money from the event.
When Campers Corner of Knoxville, Knoxville Travel Trailers, Lazy Day RV Sales in Morristown and Tennessee RV Sales, WSI RV Sales in Afton and Service in Kodak learned they would not be able to sell, they renegotiated their contracts downward, according to Baldy.
The news that sales would be permitted will mean approximately $15,000 in additional revenue for the expo center, according to Baldy.
Companies that manufacture motorized recreational vehicles still can’t market their products at outdoor shows like the Great Smoky Mountains Sportsman Show, but these types of sales were banned last year.
Baldy says the pull-behind trailers represent "99.9" percent of the vehicle vendors at the sportsman show.
The expo center director says he’s expecting as many as 5,000 visitors this weekend.
State Rep. John Litz says Baldy and organizers of similar shows in Knoxville and Nashville lobbied the DVM to modify its ruling.
"I think there was a big problem across the state, and John Baldy played a big role in getting it done," Litz said this morning.
Adult tickets to the Great Smoky Mountain Sportsman show are $3 apiece. Children under 10 will be admitted free with a paying adult.
