I have got new pictures of the scotty up. I am doing a complete rebuild of the wood structure. Scotty trailers had almost no insulation. I am redesigning it by making a honeycomb frame. I have some styrofoam sheets to fill in that area. I figure by doing this I only loose about 1 1/2 inches but its a good tradeoff. So far I got the entire wood structure off and cleaned the frame. I then cleaned and painted the frame. I have the wood floor installed and the side walls up. The plans are for the next week or so are to finish the inside walls, electrical wires run, and install the ceiling and roof. Then I plan to clean and get the outside ready for paint. I hope to paint the outside before it gets to cold. Then later I can rebuild the cabinets, install appliances, and paint. Britt, I found the key for the door. I was cleaning the floor after the walls were down and found it . The key works good. The hole where the AC was that was put in by the original owner is now a window. I had a topper window that was bout 20 inches too long. I took it apart, cut it down, and reassembled it . It fit the hole perfect and it covers all the screw holes it had. The drivers side was the worst. It had about a 2 ft section completely rotted from top to bottom. Then each of the 4 corners were rotted also. That link takes you to page two. To see the before pictures go to page one.

Thanks for the complement. I hope to have the inside walls and ceiling installed this weekend or at least next weekend. Then I hope to have the outside painted by the begining of October. I then want to get as much as I can done on the inside before November. So most should be done by November except for the drop in stove and LCD TV . I have a new sink and hot water heater. I plan to install a step tub and have a portable toilet. I will install these under the back seat. Want to get a new drop in stovetop. I also want a LCD 15 inch TV and a DVD player. My wife wants a Microwave so I have to figure where to put that one. All in 10 feet by 6 1/2 feet.

sounds like it will be a nice camper. it will be neat to have all of those amenities in a 60's camper. were trying to find one completely restored. so if if you don't mind keep your eyes for one, she would appreciate it. were looking on ebay.. thats it. all the ones she likes are too far away..we were going to purchase this one from a guy while he was restoring it, it was an old Highlander. he wanted $2500 but he sold it out from under us even when we told him be wanted it.

Yep I have really been working a lot on it. I have been putting in 20-30+ hours a week in it since I got it. I am at the point of dropping now. The reason I am doing so much is I want to get it dried in and repainted before it gets cold. That way I can finish the rest up taking my time. I want to take it out asap next year and I want it completely finished. I started before 7 this morning and finished just after dark. But I did get 4 of the 6 panels on the inside walls that cover the insuuation. I also got half of the ceiling installed. Plus the overhead compartment above the table is up. I was able to glue and trim it a little to get it to work. Next year I am going to try to line up one of the trips you go on so you can see it fisherpal. Hey willandgilscamper would you want one like mine? I know of a scotty Gaucho a guy has he was fixing up. I don't know if it was the 13 ft like mine or the 15 ft model. I ran across this guy who is about 10 minutes from me. He also has a Highlander but I am not sure if he will sell it. . It may need a lot of work . I will keep an eye open for you. Are you only interested in a Scotty or will other vintage ones do? I will keep my eyes open for a scotty, I really like the one I have. I plan on keeping it even if I get another one to fix.
