Well, we tried something new and easy this trip! The wife got some of those bamboo skewers and we cut up chunks of pork loin, chicken and onions and peppers and fixed them. Wow delicious.

1 pork loin
2 boneless chicken breasts
1 large onion
2 bell peppers
1 zuchini ? squash

Cut meat into chunks and cut onion, peppers and squash into chunks.
Place on skewers vegies between the meats
coat with a light coating of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste
cook on grill cook untill meat starts to brown and vegtables start to get done.

Works great served with potatoes or beans or whatever ya want.

Sounds like that would hit the spot my better half and I have been thinking about cooking some of those but are not sure how the kids would like them.

We've found Food City makes up some really nice Ka-bob's also, chicken or steak. We typically do steak and take them apart to marinade the meat in A1 marinade overnight. Put them back together, grill and enjoy. Really good and saves having to cut up the pieces and buy the different stuff to make your own.

I can't say it for all kids but our daughter took to it pretty good. She was eating it like corn on the cob. rolleyes.gif She didn't even take them off the skewer.
She liked it so well that last week we done it at home using chicken and veggies. She loved it. We use the bamboo skewers and I think she got them at the grocery store in a bag of 100 or so. It's an easy way to cook and not half the mess to clean up. I think the best part of it was that my daughter helped to make them and it is good to let them help as they feel like they had a larger part of fixin supper!

we fixed kabobs this past weekend, just kicked it up a notch.....we fixed a marinade for the chicken

1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup lime juice
1/2 cup honey
1 clove of garlic

I let the chicken marinade while I cut up a green, red, and yellow pepper and purple onion. Sometimes I'll also use mushrooms and tomatoes, but not this time.
I basted my kabobs while on the grill with a little of the marinade I had set aside. Heated up a packet of microwave rice, and voila! It was delicious!

This all sounds really tasty! We have never fixed shis-ka-bobs while camping but I think that we will soon try them.
