What are some of your favorite "traditional" foods?

Is there a dish that your family usually has for this meal that most people wouldn't think of for Thanksgiving?

Our family usually has the "traditional" meal - Turkey, dressing, etc.

But for me, they can have all of the rest as long as I get some of the mashed potatoes (real potatoes - not instant) and gravy.

The strangest thing our family ever had on Thanksgiving was Butterscotch soup.

When my brother and sister in law were dating, they decided to tell her parents that they had decided to get married. They told her parents on Thanksgiving day. Her mom was in the process of making Butterscotch pie for dinner. However when she heard the news, she got so excited she forgot what she was doing and ended up with Butterscotch soup instead. No one cared though as everyone was so happy for them.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
