We are thinking about buying a tent to take on longer trips. I just get too nervous pulling the camper on the interstate. If it takes more than an hour to get there I am a bundle of nerves by the time we get there. I thought if I could find a really nice tent that was easy to set up I make take a couple of longer trips.

why nervous about taking on longer trips ?? when she bought the 1963 Scotty, we pulled it home from PA, almost 800 miles.

i would rather pull the camnper on the interstate than on side roads. atleast on the interstate you got wheel room and a shoulder dont worry about the trailer look in the rear view mirror to swithch lanes and thats about it watch the front corners of your vehicle and the trailer will follow. i was nervous about pulling a trailer and then someone told me that and i listened and it worked

I guess I am just a nervous driver anyway. Driving has never been my favorite hobby even as a teenager I just never have enjoyed it. Its not the cars either I have had sports cars, sedans, wagons, trucks, suvs, and a minivan. I guess the closest I have come to really enjoying driving is with the buick I have now. Its a nice "old man" car.

one night in a tent will cure your fear of towing a trailer!!! it would me anyway. good luck.
I'm a little biased cause i drive a tractor trailer everynight, but i can see where it could be intimidating for someone that is unsure of it. Best thing i could suggest is go find an empty parking lot and if nothing else, just learn how to back up into spaces. Remember, put your hand at the top of the wheel and move it in the direction you want the back end of the trailer to go.
