Not a bad place the staff seems friendly enough. Site was good sized. The price is not bad. The downside was way to many people living in the campground.

Tuckaleechee is definitely closing. We have stored our TT and camped there for the past three years and were notified of the closing about a month ago. We received a letter stating to have the TT removed by 10/25 or have it "sold at public auction" on the 27th. I don't think they can do something like that since this is a titled vehicle, so I think it was more of a scare tactic.
I will really miss the place. Grady and Nadine (managers) and Sharon (front desk staff) were most pleasant, kind and caring. I removed the TT this past weekend and they still don't know why the owner is closing the campgrounds. He will not say. They say that all they know is that he isn't selling and will leave the land vacant. Yes, as mentioned in an earlier post, there are a few people who live there and they will need to relocate as well. It's a shame since many of them have built porches, etc.
Anyway, I have no means of pulling my TT and now need to find another campground close to Maryville that will store and set for me. Tuckaleechee was great for us because of all the trees and the woodsy feeling it provided us. It didn't feel like a "tourist trap." Does anyone have any recommendations? It has to be within a hour drive of Maryville.

Sorry to hear that the campground is going to close. If you should need someone to pull your TT to a new spot let me know. My dually is just dying to pull something bigger than my little TT. I work in Knoxville and Saturday afternoon would be a good time for me to help you out. Just let me know in advance.

Coolbreeze1, That is very kind of you. I have always found campers to be of a different breed. I'm going to store the TT in my driveway through the winter. So this now gives me until spring to find a new campground. If I can't find someone then (I had to use a friend of a friend to bring it home), I might take you up on your offer. Thank you again.
