Yes they had a problem with the Viking and Clipper Lift System on some units. The lift system that cranks up at waist height. Since then they were suppose to have changed back to the Starcraft / Rockwood system that is called Goshen Stamp lifter system. They did have a fix kit that they use to repair the system The Manf. said the company that made the system did not make it strong enough. The company that made the lift system said that the manf. did not give them the right specs for the roof and also carrying and A/C unit. Who knows what the problem really was. The best thing it has been taken care of and should not be an issue anymore. Learn from your lessons. All I know was we sure sold a lot of Starcraft Pop Up during this time. And again it was not on all of the Viking products just certain one who used this one lift system. I do not put down any other brands and will not. Check with the INTERNET and you will see the information that I posted here. I have a friend who serves on the National Board of Directors of RVDA with me at Camper Care in Edinburg (Bud Sworak) who is a viking dealership and he was the one who told me the story. He could not open any of his units up until they were fixed.
Hope this helps.
