when we were looking for our popup about 9 months ago, we read up on the Viking popups, and asked the dealers, but of course the dealers said it wasnt true. but i read that on the vikings, the new crank system they use was dropping down on people !! it was sopposed to be one of the best crank syatem avaible but it was just falling !!

i dont know if this is true, but it was on the internet and some of the other brands dealers were saying it was true. so if you are looking at a viking popup, i would ask about that.

They did have a recall on the Viking Lift system and the same one was used on the Clipper. Not all of the Viking used the same system for some weird reason.
The dealers were not able to raise the campers up till they were fixed according to the Viking Dealer in Ohio that I was talking to. The local dealer in Knoxville told me they had it all worked out now... Whatever that means. It had to do with the clutch would let go and the top could return down if it did not have the braces in place to support the roof one raised. I am sure they have worked through this problem and all of them are safe now. If you own a Viking pop up that is 2004-2006 you might want to contact your local dealer and asked them to run the Vin number to make sure that your system has been changed out to the new system.
Always make sure you put your supports in on opposite sides no matter what brand you own.
