We made two of these lights to hang on each side of the awning. All the materials were purchased at Walmart. A large flower pot turned upside-down with the bottom tray inserted in the open end. Holes drilled in the style of the pattern on the pot. Small plastic beads insetred and glued in the holes. A lamp kit installed inside and there you go! We have hafd a lot of comments on them while camping!

didn't know you were the crafty type.. looks great, how much light does it give off?

It gives off a comfortable amount of light. By that I mean it is not enough to read a book by, but it does allow you to see. They are not overpowering and we leave them on all night.

Looks great! etncc/well done.gif

I have also seen the smaller ones done and strung across the awning.

What did you attach to the top (bottom of pot) to hang it with?

Nice job. Its amazing what you can do just by making it yourself. I enjoy seeing what others have used their brains to come up with something. You probably have a better set of lights than the high dollar stuff. Years ago people would come up with ideas like that. Now it seems all people want to do is buy something and not make it. Thats a big part of the enjoyment of something, making it yourself. When I redid my camper I could not find replacement covers for the inside lights so I just used plastic tumblers turned upside down like yours.

That is really neat. I had seen a few like and was wondering how they did it. Might be a winter project for our family to work on.

Thank you for the idea.

God Bless.

Looks like a neat idea! Could even be used as a craft at church.

Now then I just had a wonderful idea! I could get the kids at church to help make stuff for camping.

That's a great idea! It could even be a money-maker for the youth! They were selling real well at our local campgrounds.

Not too bad, but I wouldn't make them and sell them. Couldn't get enough out of them to make it worth my time!!!!
