I was just wondering how this website is paid for and who pays for it. I am a member of another site for Forest River campers and last week the guy who is running it was asking for donations to keep it up and running because apparantly the cost was going up and he couldnt afford to pay for it on his own anymore.
It is a really great source of info on Forest River products so the regulars immediatly donated to keep it running.
I was just wondering about this site because it too is a great source of info on local camping stuff and I know personally i look at it every day and enjoy reading the new posts. I'd hate to see anything ever happen where it wasn't feasible to keep it running anymore because of the cost.

well the good news is it is FREE here. I found a website called forumer and everything is free on it.

the bad news is the ads on top, i can pay about 5 bucks a month to get rid of them but it never really bothers people. Also sometimes we csn have downtime when the servers and being worked on and sometimes is it slwo but we have been lucky and it has been running smooth for awhile. This forum is locked in meaning I couldnt move the posts if i moved to a paying site.

I dont have alot of extra money but wanted to start something in this area for campers and I am glad to see it has grown. Some websites which use a IPB board do pay up to 700 bucks a year depending on how many people use it. I am part of a baby board with 323 and they pay about 500 a year. We have 271 members and we are free.

if anyone wants to help pay to keep us ad free can donate but I dont ask for help from anyone

I'm of the "if it's free, it's for me" school of thought. The ads don't bother me at all. That being said, I would be a willing contributor, if that should become necessary. I would also add my faint echo of appreciation for what Stacy does.
