etncc/new.gif , Well this is all new to me. The last camping I did was over 30 years ago when I served in the National Guard so this will be a lot different. I've messed with old cars for many years and a couple of years ago got intrested in finding an older camper to re-do. I found a 69 Shasta compact last summer and am in the process of going through it. I may not be ready this spring/summer but would like to visit a rally if there is one planned in the eastern Tenn. area. If a date and location is scheduled I would like to check out other vintage campers.

Welcome to the club. You will probably like redoing campers more than vehicles as far as timewise. I redid a 66 ford truck that took about 5 years, My aristocrat camper took 6 months and my scotty may take 7 months. There is a section here for vintage campers. I have another club that is seperate to this one just for vintage campers. It has more information specific to restoring vintage campers only. Its at http://groups.msn.com/Tennesseevintagecampers
Its not intended to take away from this site but give more info on older ones that some may not be interested in . I hope to have a vintage trailer rally this year somewhere in the east but I am not sure yet where or when . I will post it here also. My campers are in the links section of that site. Plus there are other links for parts and other info on repairing vintage trailers. This is my main camping site I use, that other one is mainly for assisting other folks here in the midsouth on their campers. We have a few members here with vintage trailers. If you need any info on your trailer and repairs let me know if I can help.

Thanks for the info on other sites about restorations and vintage campers. I have gotten a lot of help and ideas from sites on the web. This started out like some of my other projects thinking I wouldn't have to do much to get it ready but looks like it's going to be a total rebuild by the time I'm finished. Better safe than sorry! I live in western N.C. and love to visit the Pigeon forge area of Tenn. so I am looking forward to camping there some. I have a good friend with a '74 Lovebug camper built by Tri-Fab that he is redoing. If anyone is familiar with these he is looking for upholstery for the walls. It is a white vinyl over foam that glues to the walls and ceiling.
