I guess we are the outsiders. We re fromSaint Louis Missouri area. Go Cards!!! We joined because with Baseball Tournaments for DS and Cheerleading Competitions for DD we seem to be spending alot of time in TN. Baseball is mainly Western Tn (Memphis Area) and Cheerleading around Knoxville. So we are always looking for someplace. We did stay at Meehman Shelby State Forest in April in Western Tn very nice!

Hi there.... we moved to Bristol almost 2 years ago from BALLWIN Missouri. I grew up in Des Peres. Went to Kirkwood High.. All my famiy is still back in the Des Peres/Kirkwood area... except for a brother and his wife who are missionaries in Tanzania. We are heading back home in June. Nice to say a fellow St. Louisan here...

to all! We live in Ashland, Kentucky (Eastern Kentucky). It is on the Ohio river and borders both Ohio and West Virginia. We have family that live in Clinton, TN. We like to come to the Pigeon Forge area. We usually stay at Clabough's on Wears Valley Road. It's not a bad trip down there and usually takes about 5 hours. We go down I-64 to !-75 and take it to I-40. Our favorite places to eat are the Old Mill and the Apple Barn. We have four children and the youngest is 22. We have three grandchildren. We have a 2002 Dutchmen 30FK-SSL and pull it with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab. I have been a professional firefighter with the city of Ashland since 1978. My wife Debbie, is a retired school bus driver. God Bless her! We enjoy camping mostly in eastern and central KY. We love the Kentuck Horse Park in Lexington, and Carter Caves State Park in Olive Hill. We get down into TN a couple of times a year usually. We are UK fans, but TN whips up on our wildcats all the time!!! Thanks for letting us be a part of this forum. I love to share anything about camping, and learn from others who love it like we do!

Hi. Welcome to the group. We really want to go to the Kentucky Horse Park to camp! We have it on our "short list" of places to visit soon. Is there anything special to know about the campground... especially regarding the best sites to reserve? Or ones to stay away from?
We are looking forward to visiting Clabaughs in June!

We have stayed many times at Kentucky Horse Park. I really don't think that there is a bad site in the whole campground. We usually try to get close to the pool or the playground depending on what time of year it is. The place is beautiful! Campers get a free parking pass to the Horse Park and a discounted admission. It is well worth the time to go there! We have a son, his wife and our grandaughter that live there in Lexington. I hope you all get to go sometime! We might even get to be there too! It's just a couple of hours from our house. Happy camping!
