where are you located Ken?
School play grounds make a good place to detect but I would wait a couple weeks til the kids get back to going. The playgrounds around here are pretty well hunted, almost on a daily basis. Your luck will depend mostly on how many detectorist there is in your locality. Happy Hunting.................

Just got into geocaching over the last couple of weeks. What an odd and addictive lil pasttime. Already had to purchase another gps because 2 just wasn't enough. 5 adults and 2 kids instantly addicted. Found between 10 and 12 so far but havent found still a few more.

Some of them that are marked easy, really aren't always that easy to find. Either way its been a blast.

Been trying to find someone in or near Kodak, Sevier County, Jefferson County or close by to do some detecting with. I've worn out Douglas Dam lately.

I've been pulling locations of old school buildings from some TVA maps and trying to hit some of them. Some are difficult to pinpoint their exact location though.

Here's a link to some good maps. They print off fairly well if you are zoomed in on
a particular location.

Contact me if anyone nearby is interested in digging.

The link : http://diglib.lib.utk.edu/dlc/map/zoomify/tnvector.html

The darker shaded areas are links to maps as old as 1939.

Good luck,
DakotaD (Gary)
