Has anyone changed out their pin box for something better? I was thinking of getting a mor/ryde pin box.

As you know i have not but....with that i have thought about it but the way i see it (at least at this point) is that the jaring i get is pretty minimal and not to the point to drop the $ yet.

There is a wide array of systems out there now. It can be quite confusing as to which is the best bang for your buck.

Well right now there is a topic on this on a owners forum. Many have changed over to the Mor/Ryde. Right now Tweetys.com has a good deal on them, esp with no sales tax and free shipping. The hardest part I would have is trying to install it myself, since it weighs more than my current pin box. Plus I don't have a torque wrench to tighten to it to the proper specs.

We ordered our Jayco with the Mor/Ryde. Our previous 5th wheel had a standard pin box. There is no doubt, the Mor/Ryde is a noticable difference. Much smoother pull, just a big difference.

I would also look into an air hitch. I have read good things about them, and the owners I have talked to in campgrounds love them. Of course, after buying one, I don't think many would say it wasn't worth the money.

I am seriously thinking about the mor/ryde pin box. Several owners of my 5er mfg have switched to it and have notice a huge difference in the ride.

Craig, yes I'm still thinking about it. Probably won't be until next year though.

That is what I had noticed. I saw a video of it somewhere, it was on the company's website or on utube.

Guess i need to Rent a 300lb Torque Wrench now...LOL

In looking at the instructions really doesn't look too hard. I may look into someone that does mobil RV work or someone that I can buy the hitch pin and they install.

Yes it doesn't seem to be a hard job, if you have two people or away to lift and hold the pin box up. Biggest thing is the torque. I read where one guy used a impact wrench but applied locktite to the threads.

I wonder if Auto Zone has a torque wrench that is capable of 300#?
