This just my opinion, but does it seem that we never get a reply when we put a question into the "Ask a Dealer" forum? I really miss Cathys RV

CB....Im right with you there.

I sent a pm over 4 months ago when I had the Dometic Recall. As of this minute I have yet to get a response. It's not like the dealers are so slammed that they cant check an email or something even once a week.

Oh well....

I think the forum is worthwhile.. Maybe this dealer just isn't interested.. Maybe another dealer would like to take over this area.

I think your right Chuck, but who do you think might be interested?

I do agree that a dealer that was "involved" would be good. But i guess we were spoiled with Cathy's. As far as who would be good I have no clue but maybe putting the word out and see who bits would be a start. I would think that many would want to be involved because they would know that those on here that are in the market may want to see who helps us to in essence return the favor. Just my .002 worth.

Craig you are right about getting a dealer that wants to be active. It gives the dealer free advertisment, plus lets people on the board that they have some one who they can trust. It would also help them in the sales and service area of their business.

I'll throw in 3 cents so that we will have a nickel between us laugh.gif

Meanwhile, try www.rvadvice.com The guy is in Elizabethton, TN. Fixed the Lift System on my PUP when I first got it. The answers he gives are pretty good, and certainly direct.

not to stir up anything but just curious as to why we are still allowing this dealer to be included when even something as simple as a PM is not answered by them? Obviously it is nothing gained by us or them.

Just a thought

I know exactly what you mean. If your needing a answer for something quickly this is not the way to go. I have no control over this.

I'm here to tell a story about this dealer. I put one of my small campers up for sale on our local craigslist and Buzz responded to the ad telling me he was interested in purchasing it. I told him I only had a certificate of origin. He said bring the camper by and he would check the papers to see if there was anything he could do with it and would purchase it. I borrowed a car to take the camper to him. (approx 50 miles one way) When I got there he looked at the paper I told him I had to begin with and told me I needed to take it home and tax title and license it before he could do anything with it. He said go do that and bring it back and he would cut a check. This happened around August 15. I brought it back home and went and spent $350 to complete the paperwork that I couldn't really afford.

Today I called Buzz to let him know I'm still awaiting the title and to ask if our deal is still in place. He has since changed his mind and decided he still wants it but he won't pay as much as agreed to begin with. So after I have to put $350 out of pocket that I cant afford, he's decided he won't pay the originally agreed price and wants to pay much less than its current value. Its now late enough in the season to make it difficult to sell.

My opinion is that Buzz is not a man of his word, and it doesn't surprise me that he won't follow up on your questions as he's only here for the advertisement.

Thanks Buzz. I won't be visiting your campers corner again.

I think I answer more camper questions than the dealer now here. laugh.gif . Seriously if there is a problem with the dealer not posting and with the issues such as wimperdink has had I say take them off. Leave the section open and post in the section if a dealer wants to respond then they may do so. Many of the questions in this section can be answered by members here or pointed it the right direction. When you have a dealer out there that begins to respond to the answers then post a advertisement to them. This is the best group out there for camping and it can reflect badly on the site to have a vendor giving bad service and who won't answer. I was raised up you are only as good as your word. Stacyb and others have worked too hard to make it a excellent site to have a vendor who will not support us if they get free advertisment. Its just my etncc/2cents.gif and I am not trying to stir up a stink.

I feel the same as you, Willy. In these economic times you want to put your best foot forward, if not someone else will biggrin.gif

I have a friend who is a salesman at the Camping World in Chattanooga. I told him about the need and he sounded interested. He is a good guy who can answer a lot of questions. I wasn't sure how to go about getting him involved, perhaps someone can educate me. He may be a good fit, who knows?
